Here we tell you everything you need to update your card or take it out for the first time

Do you need to renew your card, or it's the first time you'll take it out? Pay attention to the following data to carry out your procedure without problem.

Through the visit of offices of the General Service of Personal Identification (SEGIP) and its official website, we were able to gather information about the requirements to take out the card for the first time or renew it.

Requirements to take out the card for the first time

Those interested in getting a card for the first time of minors of 10 years, must obtain the following requirements and submit them to SEGIP:

1) Original Birth Certificate (issued from July 2007 onwards)

2) Receipt of payment of 17 Bs. through Bank Deposit or Digital Payment.

3) Presence of at least one of the parents or relatives up to the third degree or legal guardian with original and current certificate of indentity.

In the case of greater than 18 years, they must have the following documents:

1) Original Birth Certificate (issued from July 2007 onwards)

2) Receipt of payment of 17 Bs. through Bank Deposit or Digital Payment.

In these, if the birth certificate was obtained after the 12 years or more must be submitted: administrative resolution of new registration or certification of single departure or the legalized copy of registration in the birth certificate book issued by the SERECI.

Requirements to renew a card that expired or was lost

For cards issued until July 2011

1) Original birth certificate (issued from July 2007 onwards)

2) Receipt of payment of 17 Bs. via bank deposit or digital payment.

For cards issued since August 2011

1) Receipt of payment of 17 Bs. via bank deposit or digital payment.

Requirements for updating data:

To update marital status record:

  • Married(to): marriage certificate
  • Divorced(to): marriage certificate with the registration of the cancellation of the departure.
  • Widower(to): death certificate

To update profession record:

Academic title of middle or higher technician issued by the Ministry of Education or professional title in original national provision and photocopy.

The payment of 17 Bs. for the renewal process or new identity card, can be done through a bank transfer on the following enabled digital services: Uninet, Prodemnet, Unimovil, Solidarity Bank, Bisa Bank, Bnb, Economic Bank, Ganamovil, Fortaleza Bank, BMSC Mobile, BCP Mobile Banking, Cooperativa Jesus Nazareno and Tigo Money. On the other hand, you can make the bank deposit in the following entities indicating that the payment you make is intended for Segip (there is no account number).
